Unforgettable Duck and Fig Pizza With Balsamic Drizzle Recipe (2024)

I love figs. I love balsamic glaze. I also love roasted duck. Put ’em all together and BAM, you’ve got a pretty delicious duck + fig pizza with balsamic drizzle!

We received some awesome product from Maple Leaf Farms and have whipped up a few recipes with it already, including these awesome citrus-soy duck tacos. The opportunities are pretty endless here but if you aren’t a fan of duck, you could swap out for some grilled chicken!

While this is a pretty delicious fig pizza, you won’t find a typical red sauce on it. Instead, we made a super simple garlic oil to be the “sauce” on the pizza. You just have to smash up the garlic and “fry” it in some olive oil for a little bit of yummy goodness.

You’ll want to all your toppings for your pizza before you are ready to cook it. After you whip up your garlic oil sauce, you can just set it in a dish to hang out while you make all your other goodies. We love a good caramelized onion so those obviously made some of those tasty little morsels to add to our pie.

I didn’t put this on my pizza, but I had to add in a picture of the duck bacon. Since I don’t eat pork, I’m always up for a new type of “bacon” and this one didn’t disappoint. You just have to be careful not to overcook it because it gets a little tough if you cook it too long.

The fresh figs for this pizza are super easy to prepare! All you really have to do is rinse and chop ’em up and set aside while you finish everything else. Fresh fig season is about middle of the summer to fall so you should start seeing them pop up at local farmers markets and grocery stores around the country!

For the cheese, you want something “hard” that can easily be shred into thick-ish slices. We used pecorino but you could definitely use parmigiano reggiano too! We usually pick up a block of whichever is a bit cheaper at Costco and it lasts us a while.

For this fresh fig pizza, we used the fully roasted half duck and deboned it then sliced some pieces off to toss on top of it! The Beard also used some of the duck bacon on top of his pizza. Just cook it in a pan, then chop up and throw on there with the other ingredients like yummy caramelized onions.

Slide on a layer or two of the garlic oil sauce then top with the duck, cheese, and fresh figs! You’ll pop in the oven for 5-9 minutes, depending on what cooking vessel you are using. We use the Stonefire flatbread for almost every pizza we make at home. We love their products, they’ve never steered us wrong! You can buy them online here or we usually pick them up from our local Kroger.

After you take out of the oven, toss some arugula on there for some extra goodness. You don’t want to put it on before the oven because it will just wilt and be yucky. Plus, it’s like you added a salad so your pizza is healthy. Life hack, ya’ll.

Also, I have this awesome pizza peel because I used to do the local marketing for a pizza company. But, if you want one of your own, you can grab one here! They make it way easier to remove your hot pizza from the oven.

Last but not least, throw on your balsamic glaze! You can whip some up pretty easily at home or you can just buy a bottle at your local grocery store. It can harden if you cook it too long though so if you want the easy way out, I’d just pick up a bottle at your favorite grocery store.

There you have it my friends, a duck + fresh fig pizza with balsamic drizzle on top! Make sure to tag us on social when you whip up this delicious dinner.
