I need flavor in my life guys. That why I LOVE this spiced apple chutney recipe. The sweet/tart apples combined with that smoky, savory bacon is just to-die-for.

Adding that sweet brown sugar, a touch of vinegar, onion, garlic and spices really makes this apple chutney an awesome treat. Mix it with some cream cheese, serve it with pork chops or ham, it's pretty damn awesome on a cheese plate, and I LOOOOOOOVE this as a sandwich spread.

Guys, you're not going to believe how easy this delicious apple chutney recipe is....it only takes 20-30 minutes MAX to make.

For the apples, chop them in ¼ to ½" pieces, depending on how chunky you'd like the chutney to be. Combine all the ingredients in a 2-3 quart saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium heat.

Simmer, uncovered, for about 20-30 minutes, until chutney is caramelized and thickened. Store in a glass jar in the fridge, or an air tight container in the freezer.

Is Chutney Served Hot or Cold?

It depends on the dish. For warm savory dishes like pork chops or ham, I would recommend serving it warm. For dips, sandwiches and cheese, I would recommend serving it cold.

  • 1 shallot, minced
  • 1 Thai chili, minced
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup rice vinegar
