Total employment in the state at mid-June was 394,500 workers. ESC officials pointed out that despite the decrease from May to June the total is still 13,500 workers higher than in June one year ago.

The number of workers on the unemployment rolls increased by 5,000 in June to a total of 19,400, Once again the labor dispute was blamed for the unemployment jump, along with the usual June influx of students into the labor market.
